Last night I found the pattern I wanted to use in the Knitting Vintage Socks book by Nancy Bush. The Heelless Sleeping Socks but with a heel would be just about perfect so I cast on and worked 2" of the pattern after which I stepped back to take a look at it. I didn't like it! Okay, so it was late and not the best lighting so I decided to wait until the morning to see what I thought.
Here's what I found:

Right side: Bad. I don't know that I like all the purl stitches. The knits look amazing in this yarn, though... which made me think to turn the sock inside out.

Wrong side: Bad. Now it just looks like I don't know how to knit in the round and made a bunch of mistakes.
Back to the drawing board!

Bummer. But the yarn is lovely!
what about Thuja (from Knitty)? It's designed to be knit in a heavier-gauge yarn.
